DEMO line up for San Diego, Marshall and Mike - two points of view

Friday, September 21st, 2007

DEMOfall, which is being held in San Diego sounds like a great excuse for me to head out there. I just looked over this great list, and started to think to myself, you could make some money off this. Of course I have been busy working all day, and I just wanted to play a little catch up this evening.

Marshall tags his former boss Mike on this one. Some very interesting Google news by November 5th which is like election day maybe? Sounds like enough fuel for a conspiracy theory. As the TC article was stating, secret meetings, NDA’s, and off the record conversations by Mr. A. Where’s the KGB and the CIA black ops team?

Technically Speaking, enough silliness for now. I need a beer! colon cleanse

eBay and get fired, Google hits $560, Sling/DirecTV/NFL - a winning combo

Friday, September 21st, 2007

eBay and get fired - That really cracks me up, as the last place I worked a day gig at - eBay was the thing to do. But don’t go to look for cheap cigarettes! That would get you pulled into a big shot’s office. Cheap smokes was a big “no-no”, but eBay was quite ok. Funny how organizations decide what is good, and what is bad. That is why censorship is a bad thing overall.

Google hits $560 - And they will need every penny of that to build the reported Pacific communications cable!

Sling/NFL - It appears the best deal and reason to get a slingbox is due to the DirecTV and NFL deal that is being offered now.

Technically Speaking, nothing really exciting out there today. custom pens

BubCast RIP 2007-2007…

Friday, September 21st, 2007

bub-logo.JPGBubcast is no longer. The show has been put to rest after one season, but have no fear, a new show has been launched. Bubcast as you may know is the show that Alison McNeil hosted. After serious deliberations within the bub.blicio.us team, they decided to go a new direction.

I think the new show has good potential, and you should give it a look when you can. The first episode is perfect in 3 minute length, and the quality is much better than before (IMHO). I look forward to seeing this series grow over time. It also appears that the show now has an 11am time slot on Thursday’s. The new show’s name is “Tech Soup“.

Technically Speaking, you can read another post I did recently right here. Screen shot of the new show’s look is below.

Digg thinking, Propeller reservations

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

FileRadar, is a company that will be using Digg like algorithms to help gamers make wise choices. Now I don’t exactly call it Digg thinking, because Digg doesn’t think. I like this idea as when you are downloading games via bit torrent or demos, you want to be sure you are spending your time wisely. FileRadar Digg like algorithms (a far cry from thinking!) help you do this.

More Propeller News
- It appears that CN and I agree, and I haven’t even really looked at Propeller. That is quite a shame, that even the smart bloggers see the truth unfolding behind the curtain. This isn’t the wizard of oz and no matter what mirror you look at, Dorothy still isn’t in Kansas anymore! steel buildings

Technically Speaking, did I do that on purpose? You bet your a$$ I did! :)

Zimbra still in the news, Zink does inkless for $25 million

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

Zimbra who was bought by Yahoo for $350 million the other day is still making news. This time it appears that Richard over at RWW does a full analysis of why Yahoo wanted to drop $350 million on Zimbra. The answer is pretty simple, but he breaks it down pretty nicely.

Zink, a company that does inkless printing raised $25 million. Now isn’t this the same thing we did as kids at the fall festivals we had to go to? Take some wax paper and melt crayons with a hair dryer? Sound familiar? Well this company just took that idea one step further with some crystals on paper that turn into colors at a specific temperature. Very interesting. $25 million should help roll this product out to market. Miami real estate

Technically Speaking, that is two “Z’s” too many for now!
