The locals were b*tching…

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

So I decided to cut it off (the goatee that had grown down heading for mid-chest).

I went back to the “Duff” (need to be logged into MySpace to see it) look in the picture as MrBusinessGolf put it. Hey - that original “Duff” picture has more comments on my MySpace page than any other picture I have out there. I figure - Go with what works!

Technically Speaking, sorry for wasting your time on my own vain self. hahhaha… :)

Fake Rex Dixon and the latest from LC and Lookery…

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

One of the great publishers of Lookery for Facebook contacted me this morning and alerted me to this posting on a forum. Just to clarify, this is not me. I thought… “Hmmm… Fake Rex Dixon” … interesting. Ok, so the person didn’t claim to be me, and there probably thousands of people named Rex, but I thought it was kind of humorous.

For Online Investing Use Real World Expectations
- With Google shooting through the $600 per-share price, ads on the radio promoting getting rich by investing online, and friends who whisper about others who hit the online investing jackpot, it’s no wonder that many people have started investing online. … read more posted 10/25/2007 - 10:27am PDT

Lending Club, one of the companies I work for as Director of Social Media Content is looking for some more bloggers. Check the blog out to read some of our current bloggers work. If you are interested, you can either contact me directly or drop a line to us. Yes - this is a paid blogging position!

Life After Debt - Getting out of debt can be such a long process that it often seems like the final destination. Unfortunately, once your debt is gone, some financial decisions may become more difficult. While you were working your way out of debt, the question of where to put any extra money that you could come up with was probably a no-brainer: pay down your debt. Without the obvious way to apply your money, you may be left wondering what to do once you’re debt-free. … read more posted 10/25/2007 - 7:06am PDT

I have offered this out to our publishers on Lookery, and no one has stepped up to the plate. If you are a fb app developer that has some time to do a project for one of our clients, than definitely contact us today! If that form doesn’t work, than just drop me a line. *Update* - One developer has responded, but no idea yet if he will take the job. - Please apply if you are interested. The client is willing to pay good money to get this job done.

Technically Speaking, that’s it for now! btw, the below is NOT me either! :)

Rex Dixon, now that is some name I have …

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Rex Dixon, Google it. There are like 19 pages of Rex Dixon, and most are totally relevant to me, Rex Dixon. Quite insane how I marketed myself, right? If there ever was a name for sale, that would be the one to sell. Now of course, if you are not coming at me with some FIM money, walk.

One of the cool links I have on page 1 of Google is the ziki sponsored link. Now Ziki is a social networking that does what it says. Give it a try. Sign up for a Ziki account.

Basically according to what this report says, I must be somebody big time. Well if you want to buy the name that has over 19 pages (I think, I haven’t checked lately; was 19 the last time I did) of actual relevant content to me, Rex Dixon - come at me with some FIM money. I’ll sell my name, not a big deal. I can do it again.

SEO’ism, playing the numbers, gaming the system, did I do any of that? Nope. I just wrote my you know what off for the past few months now. Typed until I couldn’t type another word. Linked to this site, that site, and whatever I was writing about. There is no trick to getting your name where it needs to be.

It’s called work. Some people run up to me and say, “You are a superstar Rex!” Well at least on the terms of Google, sure, I’m all over it. In fact on Yahoo also, I’m all over the place. In fact on both pages, there is only one link on page 1 to some other Rex Dixon that isn’t me. Painter guy.

Is that SEO? Is that playing the numbers? Is that gaming any system? Nope. Sometimes I have good days, sometimes I have bad ones. Other times, my web site disappears all together for hours due to some web host snafu. I’m still here, getting more Google all the time.

Technically Speaking, Rex Dixon? Yeah, my name is worth that and more. Come at me with FIM money, and we’ll talk. Sponsor my Rex across America Lifecasting. More America, more of me viewing America like you have not seen. Want to sponsor the event? You want credible Google hits? Talk to me. Live and in Living Color, Rex Across America - buy into it, and you can share in the Google ranking.

Seriously? I have hardly seen a dime, but money isn’t everything folks. It’s more fun sometimes to just know you are right. To know you know what you are doing. Google just acts as yard markers on this wacky life we call the internet game.

Rex Dixon, Google it.

Reuters and EMI buy out offers…

Friday, May 4th, 2007

Here are two stories that may break later this morning or early this afternoon. I wonder if Google said, “Screw 2017, we just will go for it now!” Very well could be, as there are no names attached to either one of these stories that the WSJ is carrying today.

The first one has Reuters being offered and the stock climbs of course.

The second one is EMI music, this one might be Microsoft?

Just guessing, but wanted to put that out there for you investigating (or investing!) types to go after. Giving you some easy heads up this morning. Why? Because this review of Rex Dixon said that is what I do best.

where did he dig those quality stories to feed my thirsty brain!

Technically Speaking, I am rolling out! Oh, real quick personal observation, ever since I posted that MyMormonSpace article, do you see that ad running on top a lot? Or is that just me?

YouTube is paying it’s best …

Friday, May 4th, 2007

Now a lot of the articles you read today are going to say that YouTube isn’t paying “me“, as in that person. Well for one, I’m sure that your video sucks like mine do. So that is why you are not getting paid. The top tier will be making some more money starting today.

Lisa Nova is one that will be getting paid, more money starting this morning. In fact, if you watch one of her videos, you will understand the difference between say one of my videos and hers. Does that make me any less talented? Of course not! I just happen to think that over the last 24 hours, I have been forced into being such a downer, we need to lighten up and see some funny stuff.

Now many of you (yeah, probably YOU) will say “Oh he is only supporting SplashCast due to getting the free video camera!” Sorry to inform you, I was a big supporter of their service long before I received that. In fact, I put out more videos with the borrowed camera I was using then the one I received from them.

Technically Speaking, kick back and enjoy, laugh, relax. Let’s spread some good in the world this Friday weekend heading into Cinco De Mayo!

Lisa Nova, do you even need to ask “why” she is getting more money!

Rex Dixon, the rex.tv pilot video:

Yes, I do miss working with Mae Oakmont, here is one of the last projects we worked on together. This was filmed with the borrowed camera.

twitterment, what the real world is missing..

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

Robert Scoble alluded to it once again, twitterment. When the advertisers of the world wake up and smell the coffee, my guess will be later then sooner, this could be a goldmine opportunity.

I first heard the idea via a phone call conversation with Marshall Kirkpatrick I had about a week or more ago. Now Robert is sold on the idea. When will the advertisers tap the brains and use the power that sits in front of them?

Technically Speaking, only God knows that answer! Don’t believe in the power of twitter yet? Then all I can say is follow me. Bored? Then watch my chair today as long as the stream stays up on rex.tv.

Very Early Round Up: 4/17/2007

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

This should have gone up hours ago. Why bother? Because the news is streaming so fast today, you might have missed it. Doubtful, but you never know:

Inpowr - Now this is a cool social network. One that is quite useful. It’s about YOU!

AllOfMp3
- Is it gone for good? Any signs of life?

Traditional Business - Is always slow on the uptake. We all know that!

Rex sells out - Yes, and Alex from Planypus made sure to welcome me! haha!

Funny Or Die - Big VC money for Will Ferrell; Marshall didn’t think it was all that funny.

And now… finally catching up to 3 hours earlier …..

Google - Launches the PowerPoint clone! It is done, the battle for the whole ball of wax is ON!

Technically Speaking, it’s very hard to keep up during conference week. There was a literal boatload of items on Mashable; Pete and Kristen make quite a team; puts the rest of us to shame.
