It is time - Round Up!

Friday, June 15th, 2007

That is all the time I have this morning. I will be back shortly; obviously as I have social media person duties to attend. For now though, it’s like the old days - Link Blog is Locked ‘N Loaded, and you have some stuff to read below!

7 Arrested - In a MySpace sting operation it appears. How does this not surprise me?

Sicko - Just don’t make money on it! ie.. don’t sell it or try to profit off of it. You follow the rules, and Mike’s ok with sharing!

Driver - Please take me to …. Gotta love technology! I have been waiting for this to hurry up and get here. Driving would be less stressful if all cars were required to be computer driven and operated!

State Of The Video ID - I still don’t understand how Google and YouTube just are not one video delivery platform. Didn’t Google pay $1.65 billion for YouTube? Are they not sharing information between the two companies? Isn’t this the reason we all were screwed on 9-11? Departments within an organization not sharing information with each other (ie.. CIA-FBI-NSA, etc.. )????

Technically Speaking, have to roll out for a bit this morning, but this reminds me of the old days of blogging early and beating the rush!

Vator.tv, FameCast, Pier Screenings, AppleTV cost, Online Gambling, means it’s a Round Up!

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

I just filled the Link Blog; remember when I called it “Link Blog Lock N Load“? Well that has been done. Now it’s time to cover all the rest of the stories that appear hot this morning. Round up style.

Vator.TV - The good thing about this is that you have two stories to read; a long version and a short version. :)

Online DVD Rentals
- Allen has that one covered! The site is called - moviesmailed.com - you thought I was going to to say he is talking about Netflix.

Famecast - A new online reality contest show raises $4.5 million.

Pier Screenings - If you have a parody video, submit them to this great way to showcase them.

AppleTV - It’s just a hobby. Only $62 profit on this cool device.

Online Gambling - There is hope yet for you that like to bet online, and stay out of the casinos.

Technically Speaking, time for me to roll out for a bit.

RealPlayer, MultiVerse; Round Up!

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Yup, it’s time for a round up. I’ve been working today as you already know. Doing the social media person job. So even though I’d love to write more, these two items have a couple of good articles already, and figured you might want to know about them.

RealPlayer - Is finally doing video downloads. Here is the longer version, and then the short version.

Multiverse - $4 million for virtual reality worlds. That is quite a lot of money, and some off line places probably really wish they would have started an online business. Nevertheless, you have the short version, or the more concise long version.

Technically Speaking, more later or tomorrow! Don’t forget to play Jambaz before 12 midnight eastern time!!

Round Up time…

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Well it’s another beautiful day in the STL for the moment. I need to get moving on now. The Link Blog was updated, and it’s time for a really quick round up. I have quite a busy day ahead of me, and yes, I’m having the time of my life right now. With that being said, here are a few items that are interesting and I would have expanded on further if I had the time this morning.

FIOS in Ft. Wayne, IN - There is hope if Ft. Wayne, IN is having FIOS. I figured that it would never get out here to the middle of nowhere, but there is now hope! FIOS may not be for just NYC/Long Island much longer.

Brilliance - Yes, I agree. Taking something that is there already and just utilizing it is a great way to make a new startup. Just a word of warning in this. Make sure Amazon doesn’t own the main company as Alexaholic or Statsaholic found out!

Tribler sounds cool
- At least they kept the “e” in their name. I was really wanting to investigate more about this place. Sounds very interesting as it’s a mashup of big media proportions. Well big media as in a way to help you find more media by suggestion.

Google Invests - In the wife of Sergey Brin the co-founder of Google. Interesting things could come about this. I think they probably went ahead and made sure all was good, but usually these sort of things are kind of dangerous. I feel there will be many posts around the internet written today around this one. Opinions will be flying.

Leaving the blogs
- I am thinking that Technorati is changing things to fit a certain market or investment criteria. I think that Technorati should stay tracking the blogosphere. It’s what it did best. Now things are changing up. They are “diversifying“.

Justin.tv goes wild - Well if you are invited as a key person or are in Justin’s group of sleeping friends. That was the funniest thing I read online about this yesterday. Justin was apparently sleeping when this all was launched yesterday. Nice. I still use UStream as I know I just won’t be invited. Watch it there, or on my page located at what I call “rex.tv“. I don’t have the gear to broadcast 24/7 like Justin. I’m also quite boring.

Joost and Hollywood - What can stop the Joost juggernaut? I really can’t see a bad move yet by this company. If you haven’t jumped on the Joost train, I suggest you do so.

Technically Speaking, all will become apparent in short order. Have a great day, and check back to the Link Blog, don’t forget to play your Jambaz game. I did the other day as a matter of fact, so hopefully I can still be competitive.

Round Up Thursday: 5/17/07

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

I am a bit off and behind this week. Unfortunately like some hangover cures you may have just taken, here are the items that still provide interest this morning.

Live Streaming Video - I agree that once this really takes off, and not just something like rex.tv, this will be where all the money is invested. This will happen later this year. UStream is a great proof of concept platform. They are doing a great job.

Google’s Universal Search - To be quite honest, I just went to the source. The lady who came up with the idea back in 2001. Now if she came up with the idea in 2001, why are we all “ga-ga” over it today (yesterday mainly) in 2007? Was there some sort of 6 year glass ceiling that needed to be shattered over there?

Cameroid - Sort of interesting. What really is interesting to me is that Kristen is like probably hands down the hardest working blogger in the entire blogosphere. I’ve seen all the work she has pumped out over there the past 24 hours. I haven’t had time to read it all, but I just wanted to drop at least one of her pieces linked here. She makes other bloggers look extremely lame.

Veotag - $750,000 for a video tagging service? Ok, unless you are tagging geo-satellite photos or something, I can’t see the urgency in this. There must be a bit more, but hey, there is a cute blonde doing the demo. :)

Technically Speaking, I hope to be back on here later. Don’t forget to play Jambaz today, as you can’t just “let it ride” like Vegas!
