Video iPod upgrade coming in August

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

It is appearing like a very strong fact over a rumor now. The video iPod, which I now have two thanks to winning two Jambaz games, will be upgraded to be touch screen like the iPhone.

Apple is preparing to launch a next-generation video iPod in August that features a touch-screen panel similar to the iPhone, according to DigiTimes.

The DigiTimes article goes into further details.

“The Taiwan-based panel maker will begin shipping capacitive touch screen panels in the second half of 2007,” DigiTimes said. “The company noted that its touch screen panels will be used with customers’ own software and ICs.”

Technically Speaking, I wonder if current owners of a video iPod will be given any sort of incentive to upgrade? :)

Dang it.. I hate when that happens..

I guess my new video iPod that I won playing Jambaz is now obsolete.

It appears that the Microsoft Zune is going to pass up the video iPod. Well most Apple followers would tell me, to just give up the Vista laptop I have and trade it for Macbook Pro. They would also say, to let them pry that video iPod from my cold dead hands. Yes, I just saw that NRA promo where Charleston Heston said that about his rifle. :)

Hey, I’m sure Apple won’t be too far behind? Oh, that’s right, they are coming out with that one device soon. What was it called? Hmm.. oh yeah.. the iPhone! I wonder seriously if they thought about suing iJustine? Maybe they just said screw it, and are paying her under the table.

Technically Speaking, I need to get out of this post before it goes really into territory that would not be “general audience” rated.

MP4 format and college classes

Mae is going to like this. Maybe her honey will buy her one for Valentine’s day? You know, it’s for educational purposes. Right?

Now we all know what to get Mae for her birthday coming up soon. She will be needing one of these video iPods so she can keep taking classes but not have to be there. I think it’s a great idea, and just another reason why I love technology. Scot, I take it you don’t read the Star-Telegram? Second rate Dallas paper? :)

Technically Speaking, I’m quite blessed to have both writers dropping articles here on this blog. They both bring in some diversity to my usual rambles. I’m sure though, I will be getting harrassed by Mae’s better half for saying the above about getting buying her a video iPod. It’s all in good fun. It’s Valentine’s day, relax and enjoy the ramble’s I put out!
